Mod-eez®️ Clip Connectors are specifically designed for RTA furniture and case goods. They are made of spring steel and come in two widths for 5/8″+ and 3/4″+ material and are used in combination with a Shoulder Screw which can be attached in all wood materials including metal. From pass-thru, non-locking, semi-locking, and locking clips, you will be sure to find the right combination. This product contains the Mod-eez®️ Clip Only.

Mod-eez Sets are also available, which include the Clip, Shoulder head screw, and mounting screws.

Description

The Mod-eez®️ system was developed to join panels securely together in a fast and simple method with no visibility of the connector. The Mod-eez®️ Fastening System meets the objective by utilizing a spring steel declining ramp “clip” and a large collared Shoulder Screw at the two mating members. Spring steel makes the joint strong, yet flexible, while the collar on the Shoulder Screw adds tremendous resistance to torsional pull-out. Assembly occurs by simply sliding the Shoulder Screw head down the clips ramp. With the clip located in its pocket, and the system assembled, all fasteners disappear.

Mod-eez®️ come in Single Clips, Double Clips, and Anti-Rotation Clips and with each, there are 4 types available: Pass-thru, non-locking (easy to disassemble), semi-locking (hard to disassemble), and locking (cannot be disassembled). Mod-eez®️ comes in two widths, working with both 5/8″ and 3/4″ + material.

Mod-eez Sets are also available, which include the Clip, Shoulder head screw, and mounting screws.

Steps:

  1. Route pocket in Mod-eez®️ Clip according to chart below.
  2. Use the Mod-eez®️ Drilling and Depth Jig to pre-drill (5/32″ or 4 mm) holes 32 mm on center. This Jig will also ensure that the pocket is drilled to the perfect depth for all Mod-eez®️ single clip, double clip, and anti-rotation connectors.
  3. Mount clip with PH-Screws Ø = 4,5 mm (length as required)
  4. Pre-drill hole for Shoulder Screw and install
  5. Assemble workpiece with a rubber mallet

Tips:

  • Welding Mod-eez®️ Clips to steel (i.e. approximately 16 ga.) can be accomplished by wire welding.
  • Pockets to receive connectors are normally routed into the edge of a panel but can be routed into the face when design so requires.

    I purchased the Mod-eez connectors to work with pre-finished melamine panels from the box stores. I purchased these and used them to build 2 custom cabinets from 15 inch, pre-drilled melamine shelf panels. I used a 1/4 inch slot cutting router bit and made a custom base to achieve the 11mm depth of cut on the end of my fixed shelves. I used the router’s depth adjustment to adjust the location of my slot, cutting a portion of the slot and then flipping the work piece and cutting the other portion of the slot. This left the connector accurately centered on the fixed shelf edge.

    I am a production carpenter working on site for building and remodeling. I find these connectors a great alternative to confirmat screws, and they’re hidden so your work looks cleaner! There is also no risk of blowing out a panel side and ruining a piece when I’m trying to align my portable drill by eye to make a joint into a 3/4 inch edge…a problem with confirmat screws.

    This is a great product for hidden joints in all substrate, and it is an excellent choice when working with particle board or medium density fiberboard.
